NEW YORK—Consumers continue to crave coffee at home, and manufacturers are innovating and constantly producing new products in the category.
Two examples this week:
Italian appliance brand SMEG is adding two new products to its at-home brewing collection: a Fully-Automatic Coffee Machine and a Mini Kettle. The coffee machine has a stainless-steel burr grinder and thermoblock heating system and can brew a range of hot beverages, from a tea infusion to an extra-strong ristretto. It comes in basic and medium models; the medium version has a steam wand attachment for milk frothing. The kettle is a miniature take on SMEG’s existing electric kettle, with the same ‘50s design in a compact size. It features an anti-slip 360° base, a double-wall structure with a stainless-steel lining, an internal water level indicator and an anti-drip spout. Both products are available at Williams Sonoma.
The new Jura Glacette is a handy accessory for preparing milk specialty beverages with Jura’s automatic coffee machines. It is an insulating sleeve that fits snuggly around Jura’s glass milk container and keeps milk cool and ready to use for up to two hours. The cordless three-piece Glacette includes a sleeve that can be placed in the freezer until frozen and a two-piece container with a twist-off bottom. It is available in black or white, retails for $60 and is available for immediate shipping.
