Grant to expand Community Action House, Harvest Stand Ministries partnership

2 min read

HOLLAND — A state grant of $50,000 will help a pair of nonprofit organizations expand a collaborative partnership aimed at addressing food insecurity in the area.

Community Action House is the recipient of a $50,000 grant from the Michigan Health Endowment Fund, which will be used to expand work with Zeeland-based Harvest Stand Ministries.

The grant helps Community Action House scale up the amount of perishable food available for individuals in need ahead of the opening of the organization’s new Food Club and Opportunity Hub scheduled to open in the fall.

“This state support from the Health Fund will increase local access to healthy food while building an efficient scheduling, pick up and delivery system that allows Community Action House and Harvest Stand Ministries to improve the impact of our efforts,” Community Action House Executive Director Scott Rumpsa stated in a news release. “It’s a win-win for both organizations and most importantly, our community.”
